air conditioning

hi fellas, got an early start working on my truck before christmas break and i want to delete the entire air conditioning setup. i took the condenser out and want to take the compressor and the rest of the lines out too. my question is do any of you have the belt number for a cummins without air conditioning. and if so the belt would go right off the belt tensioner and to the alternator?

thanks in advance

For an alternative, keep the A/C pump on and make it an air compressor...

thats a good idea. never thought of that. i looked under the hood and it shows the belt routing diagram. just gotta get the new belt lol. i think for the plate where the a.c. lines meet at the cab ill take a piece or 3/16 flatbar or something, cut it our on the shear and just rtv/bolt it back on so that unit is sealed off.

anyone know how hard it is to pull the hvac box? i think im gonna do that and clean it out so i dont have to cut it up.

thanks fellas. as soon as break is here (wedenesday) im gonna start tearing back into the body work and ill be posting pics

The NAPA heater cores are 2 row vs 1 row stock. Should give more btu's
in theory.

For the belt w/o AC, just go to the autoparts store, they sell both for our trucks. I was once worried about my compressor locking up, so I bought the belt w/o AC.

Does anyone have any idea how to convert these rotary air conditioning compressors to a regular compressor. I've seen articles for converting the old piston type compressors and I know that they do have rotary compressor is available for a price. It is wonder someone is figured out how to successfully convert hours. Mike
