Is this against the rules???

I was thinking today (made another Pred injector puller) and I had made another one for another member and sent it out, but I was wondering if its against the rules if we would start a list of tools people would be willing to loan out.
I know theres alot of risk involved and i'm not talking the higher end tools but maybe like this injector puller, It doesn't cost much to make and I know that if one member needed one and couldn't or didn't have the time or tools to make it theres probably more, and it would be easier to pay shipping to recieve one and shipping to return it to the owner. I think shipping was 2-3bucks one way.

Just a thought. Like I said I'm not talking about the 100 dollar tools i'm talking the cheaper ones and maybe there aren't that many "specialized" tools to loan out.

I don't see a problem, we are talking about lending not selling.

Thats what i figured but I thought I'd Check. How should we set it up? and I would also assume we would have to have a disclaimer of some sort expecially on the home made tools.

Great idea. I have seen some really great specialty custom made hand tools that one might need once in the life of owning their truck. A specialty hand tool co-op would be great. Things like injector pullers, barring tool, home made items for one off scenarios, gauge for shimming/setting pre-load on getrag trans during rebuild etc. I have been impressed several times by the home made specialty tools created by members.

If we start a new thread and each member lists tools they would be willing to lend out the thread could get pretty long and hard to sift through, what would be a good way to list tools that could be changed easily, so if someone made a new one they could add it to their list?

Good idea. I've bought things I only needed that one time - so far.

Or just the "needer" post what he/she needs and where he/she is. Then the loaner can go from there. But then loaners would have to monitor the thread I guess...

How about a thread where lenders post what they have to loan out, and borrowers PM the lenders?

Maybe put it in the sticky so it doesn't fall down a couple pages and get lost?
