Care to explain the theory behind why that is? More fuel equals more timing? I didn't know that they were relative...

Thanks.
More fuel does not necessarily mean that you need more timing.

The POD's are a lousy injector design. Only 4 nozzles with a "sac" that holds fuel after the main injection event, almost like a stock injector that's dribbling. Because of the design, they need more timing to have a chance at burning all the fuel they dump in.

"If they're so lousy, why do we use them?"

Because they are cheap and brutally effective.

DD4's make about 15 HP more than POD's for a little under double the price. AFAIK, they are a custom tip on rebuilt stockers. Talk to PDR about them.

Any of the custom injector makers can make you whatever you want provided you are willing to pay them for it. You are limited only by your budget.

The 12 valve 2nd gen injectors will not fit up to our lines and have too high a pop-off pressure. You have to call and ask for the 1st gen ones.

Just the typical 1/8" timing bump will make it run good, but you will be severely overfu.. I mean under-turboed. You would need more air even with stock pump settings, those are some big injectors.

Another option is the Bully Dog +50s. They give about + 25 in a non I/C engine.
I'm running them and they don't smoke at all at idle and I can get the same mileage as I did with the stockers if I keep my foot out of it. (but I don't).

I haven't checked in a while, but the Bully Dogs used to be available thru several sources...they were a little pricey compared to PODs...I think they were in the $600 range.
I lucked and got mine used ( and a greatly reduced price) from a fellow TDR member who put 3000 miles on them.
I'll surf around later today and see if I can find them.

I looked around some last night but didn't find them advertised anywhere. I couldn't get into Bully Dog's site either.

I saw some Bullydog injectors on E-bay last night for a first gen. I am seriously considering dumping the PODs and going stock or 190s.
