Adapting my np205 to a 47RE?

Hmmm, is there any kits out there to adapt my NP205 to a 2002 47RE? Just thinking about some stuff and want to educate myself a bit.....

If you are putting it in the 93 listed in your sig, you must know that the 47RE is shifted entirely by the computer, and the 93 does not have the circuits in the PCM to do that. Each gear is shifted by an electronic signal from the PCM. If you get a 47RH from a 94-97 diesel or V-10 truck, only the overdrive and lockup is controlled electronically, and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd is shifted automatically from hydraulic pressure. I have a wiring schematic drawn up in my gallery that shows how you can control O/D and L/U semi automatically with a double momentary toggle switch(or switch of your choice) and six relays. It disengages when you tap or step on the brake pedal. Very cheap, simple, and foolproof. Or you can use pressure switches to control them. The problem I hear everyone complain about when the tranny is controlled by computer or pressure switchs, it engages either too soon or too late, and disengages either too soon or late because when your driving conditions change, it doesn't. My way never engages or disengages unless I tell it to.

Well, not really, the 47RH is just slightly more trouble than installing the 518. I did it. I wish I had researched before I started gathering my parts and found out what I just told you though. I gathered up everything from a 93 auto to go in a 93, and later went out and bought everything again from a 95 auto truck to get the lockup TC I needed. You will be much happier with the 47RH over the 518. You will also need a different engine adapter and a different starter if you get a 47RH.

You can buy a 29 spline output for the re. The rh only comes with a 23. I had to make a 23 to 29 spline coupler for mine. I was told the 23spline input for the 205 would not hold up.

Give "advance adaptors" a call they can hook you up with what it takes to get it mechanically sound.

Use a manual valve body or grab a cheap 518 overdrive and use it to build a 47RH.

For you probably, but for the rest of us its fine. How many P-pumped 24valves are out there running around with a NP205 behind everything?

I've seen it done and all that basically needs to be done is a spacer needs to be installed in between the trans and the transfer case. One of the shops out here in PA has done it in a crew cab conversion, I think it was East Coast Diesel that did it, but I'm not sure.
