I gotta ask, what prevents you from putting the 48RE in front of an Auto NP205?

The protrusion of the output shaft changed when the overdrive section got shorter on the RE trans versus the RH.

Cool, didn't know that.

Always something new to stick back in the noggin.

Thanks!

Yeah but now I'm going to forget something I already knew.

46RH is the Non-lockup OD tranny for a gas motor. The 47RH is the non-lockup OD tranny for the diesel.

Read post number 6 in this thread. Nothing about your statement is fact. The 47RH is of lockup design it's also labeled under the hood as an A618. It is also used in the V10 trucks so it is not diesel specific.

The 46RH is also known as the A518 used in both gas and diesel models. It has lockup capacity in some gas applications but not in the diesel factory application.

If you have ever had to rebuild and order parts for any of them you would have likley learned the nomenclature often changes back and forth on the names of them.

I stand corrected. I went out and looked under my hood. It only says A518 I could have sworn that 47RH was the diesel version as performance diesel tranny shops don't offer 46RH anything... only 47RH's and up. The gas and diesel A518's are physically different also so you'd think the designation would be different as well.
