Well I don't see what will be gained. The second gen's have a smaller airbox than our trucks. It would be just as easy to make a slick bhaf setup. And it would flow more air.I have a K/N conical filter 45'ed right off the turbo that flows like a son of a gun.But I worry about what passes so I don't know how much longer it will be on there.I have heard the AFE progaurd 7's are a little better.

Personally it would be the other way around, a first gen airbox on a 2nd gen. more surface area to filter. the 2nd gen filters are poor compared to the nice big round ones IMO.

I never could understand putting a 4" mandable(sp) bend exhaust on and forcing incoming air to do a 180 degree turn coming into the turbo I have always felt that 1st Gens air filtration system is much more efficient with it's minimal turns.

I'm with Bob on the flow issue. Also, the 2nd gen airbox is notorious for not sealing to the filter very well, resulting in unfiltered air leaking past.

Caleb, if you like the AFE, you should really look at the UNI filter. Ordered one from Scotty last week. You can definately tell a difference between the BHAF. Filtration is supposed to be alot better than the PG7

I've used a Green High Performance Air Filter for about 2 years and i'm very happy with it's ability to clean and flow air. They are similar to K&N but use a different type of cotton media than K&N. They were developed for the Paris to Dakar off road race so they work well in high dust conditions. Oil analysis has shown they do an excellant job of filtration and my intake hose shows no sigh of dirt or dust. If your interested they can be checked out at www.greenfilterusa.com or 1-800-382-4357 the P?N for my '93 was 2159.

Caleb, they are a double layered foam filter. Used extensivley in motorcross. It is also the filter that Scotty is putting in his new air boxes. Do a search on this site for UNI filters and check it out.
