91 Dodge 250 4x4 - good deal?
Hi all! New on this site. Had a look at a 91 Dodge 250 4x4 3/4 ton with the Cummins diesel. about 230,000 miles, no rust, heavy duty suspension, air bags (Had a big camper on it that recently sold), AC. Seems well maintained. Owner would sell it for around $7K US. Transmission was rebuilt a couple of years ago. Does that sound like a good deal? I could then buy a suitable camper for my needs and put it on next year. Thoughts?

Thanks guys.
Not sure about the intercooler, but the tranny is automatic. It also has a sunroof which I found interesting in that kind of vehicle. Heck of a suspension on it: regular leaf springs plus some helpers on top, and the air bags. He said the original owner had a welder on it, and though it was a 3/4, it was really built on a 1 ton chassis.
My first time in such a rig, found the ride a bit harsh (he said he probably had too much air - 75 psi - in the tires, and in the air bags, which he should lower since he took the camper off a week ago - he sold it). Some rattles in the dash etc. Seat has some wear obviously but interior is pretty clean. Cruise control doesn't work, but the overdrive does. He had some front end work done on it recently, and needed a u-joint in the front drive shaft (seems he doesn't use the 4x4 very often).
I found the mileage a little high at first, but have been told that it's not too high for that kind of truck (especially with the Cummins TD). I suppose I wonder if down the road it may require wheel bearing replacement, diff or axle repairs, etc. Tranny seems to have been overhauled so that should be ok for a while.
I'd get it thouroughly checked out at a truck shop before finalizing the deal. Would a Dodge dealer be the best place to take it for mechanical inspection, or a truck repair shop?
THanks.

p.s. I'm in the North-East (Canada actually). RUst-free specimens like this one are probably somewhat scarce. Most N-A trucks of that vintage that have been driven in the salty winter roads have a fair bit of rust on them.
If it has overdrive, it's intercooled.
The ride actually sounds pretty typical.
You'd have to find a Dodge dealer with an old mechanic - I'm sure it's been a while since most Dodge dealers have seen a 1st gen. A truck shop would be a better choice for having the engine looked at.
