1991.5 I/C. LE package. The air is not as cold as it "could" be. I almost never use it, (maybe 1 time per year), but I got a friend who does HVAC work on cars and can recharge it, or re-do it for me for free. What coolant do I have?? so I can let him know what to bring? Do I need to retro-fit it for the new r12(?) or what? I seem to remember r-214(?)
I don't know anything about A/C, so I just need to know what to tell him so he can "steal" me the right stuff.

Originally it came with R-12, it could have been converted to R-134, if it has been converted it should have a tag saying so on the compressor or some other AC component.

 

Does your blower put out as good as it could? My system had a pile of leaves and other debris covering the evaporater coils. I cut a window in the plenium as shown in a recent thread and cleaned it out and washed the coil. The a/c will run you out of the truck unless the outside temps are in the high 90's. And that is using the new stuff in the system.
