91.5 and 93 motor differences

91.5 and 93 motor differences

Hi, i found a parts truck with a 91.5 intercooled motor. will this swap right in or will i need to change the IP and stuff like that?

You will need to swap on the crank sensor (and the damper if there aren't notches in the '91.5 unit) so the PCM will get the hint that the engine is running. Otherwise you get no charging system, A/C, cruise, etc.

well, the truck is a 93, so the swap should just be a direct bolt in correct? also, any difference in flywheel between a 2wd and a 4x4?

also, does anybody know what gears were offered in the rear end of a 93 2wd? im hoping it has 3.55s as my rear end has a lot of slack in it.

ok, well i bought the truck and it turned out to be a 92. The rear end is a 3.54 and it has overdrive. will this motor swap right in without modifications.

Ok, well im gonna try and finish up this swap tomorrow. just gotta undo the motor mouts on the parts truck and yank the motor and set it in the new truck and start putting it all back together.

any tips on putting the torque converter bolts back in?

also, my new motor that i got is stock and man what a dog, cant wait to start bombing this one.

Ok, well everything is undone, but i cant get the motor to lift out. i have the chain attatched to the hook on the front left and the hook on the back right. the motor hits the cab and i cant get enough clearance to get the oil pan over the crossmember. any ideas?

Sounds like you are gonna have to pick it back end first. Change where you are lifting on the chain.

well i tried to pull the motor with unbolting the torque converter as i always do with my chevys. i had to unbolt the TQ and it slid right out. should have the truck up and running tomorrow night if all goes as it should.

Ok, for the oil tube, can i use instant gasket to make a gasket for it or no?

sorry, the oil tube to the turbo. a little update both motors are out and the new one is going in tomorrow. think i can have everything done tomorrow?
So, can i use instant gasket on the oil tube to the turbo? also, any advice on how to get the torque converter bolts back in?
