90 to 74 swap
Has any one taken a 1st Gen and put in an older truck? I bought a 90 Dodge with 36534 miles and going to install in my old 74 power wagon 4x4 any suggestions for tips on swap?

sorry, i cant help you with a swap...
but 30,000 original miles in a 90 is pretty **** good.how does the rest of the truck look? i've seen clean original low mileage 1st gens go for silly amounts of cash over 10k. perhaps its nice enough to sell and buy a wrecked 2nd gen or 24 valve that you could pilfer a motor from and have yourself a more powerfull, efficient motor from the get go.

Actually its a Tow Tractor made by Dodge to pull Military Aircraft equipment around, it has a Dana 70 1 ton rear end in it and a short body but the front end cab and fenders is in excellent shape this way I may able to put the wiring and steering column in hope will convert. I picket it up for $2200 hundred from an Goverment liqudations.

Out of curiosity, what is the wheelbase? Is it the same as a Ramcharger?
I looked at buying one of those. Take the mileage and divide it by the hours and it usually comes up to an average speed driven as 8 - 10 mph. If you take the hours and multiply by 40 it will give an idea of how many average road miles it would have actually traveled at 40 mph. Still not a bad deal overall.

I am currently involved in installing my 91 into a 85 crew cab. Some problems that I have ran across. Trany mount in different location, frame is 1 inch thicker.
Not sure on your set up but mine those were a few on the problems that I had.
I converted the 85 to 4 X 4 and used 91 engine cross member and radaitor support cross member. But I have heard of guys using the older motor cross member and lengthing the slots for the mounts.
