727 to Getrag conversion
Thanks for all the helpful information you guys have already given me about the transmission mods you can do to the old Torqueflight 727. I asked about the NV4500 conversion and the 47RH conversion and got alot of insightful tips. So, here I go again. What would it take to convert my 727 over to the Getrag 360? Should I even consider it? I understand that the NV4500 has 29 splines where it bolts to the transfer case where the 727 only has 23. How many splines does a Getrag have? Would it require shortening the drive shaft? Any info would be really appreciated. Thanks alot!
