I need to replace the trashed trans in my 89 , having no luck finding a decent used 727 but have found a fresh a518 pretty cheap I know it will bolt in my question is on the driveshaft, what mods will I need to make to the ds , or will I simply have to use the ds from the a518's truck? Also would the trans mount be the same? Hoping someone with 1st hand knowledge might be able to steer me in the right direction!

Also if someone has a good used 727 near my area (Indiana) let me know! lol

It'd be easier to go with the 518 DS if you can get it. The 727 is a shorter transmission.
