I can't picture a 2wd's mount but if it is any help you will need about 2" further back. If you cant modify the mount (again i cant picture what it looks like) could you more it back on the frame?

Got the cross member done. Other things to do when putting a 618 in. # 1. cut the ear off on the right side of transmission why if you don't the dip stick wont fit. #2 flatten the pinch seam out across the top of tunnel and on the right side right under the heater box where the seam starts to go up into the tunnel. I didn't find these things in the sticky. Ken

I have a two whl drive and put a 47rh in my crew cab. I did not have same problems you are having with fit?? Hmmmmm?? What we did was drill holes in top flange of frame rails to move trans mount to rear. Sounds like you have trans mount fixed. Good luck, you will like the 47rh especially if you tow.

all that I did for my 47rh mount was drill the stock xmember and use a 2nd gen trans mount. I bent the stock 47rh dipstick to work with my truck

Trans is in the truck and moving down the road need to put a pressure switch on it so the lock up drops out at about 40 mph. but it works good goes down the freeway about 400 rpm less than the 518 at a same mph. I rebuilt the trans before I put it in. things I did put in the trans is steel front plant, transgo shift kit,BD converter, a carbon fiber ridged front band, put 5 clutches in the front drum, and few other little goodies in it. my friend with a transmission shop was impressed in the way it shifted. hope I can get passed 20 mpg with it now Ken
