I bought a piston pump from a seller here who builds and tests them for the VE application. I tested it when I first put it in and at idle it puts out 11 PSI. The other pump put out over 35 PSI (my gauge only goes to 35 PSI)

I have that part number from Fastenall somewhere. I'll use it on the original pump if my current pump ever goes out.

well that is good but but i recently hauled a 95 F-150 over the summit. cool fall day, my rad is not new but is decent, truck has upgrades so does pull reasonable, and is an automatic, much work has been done so has all good aftermarket gages 4 inch ex etc etc.as we know that is not a huge load, but a long pull hill. i know the drill pretty good , done it often. shift down. in otherwords no OD at all, and watch he gages. back off when necassary. temp started climbing, and i could only maintane, 60 kms till i peaked the summit to keep things in check. so it seems to me once we start upping the HP. on these trucks, we are pushing them beyond thier limits for a real long pull. that is i believe why a couple years later mother mopar did to the new trucks what i am going to attempt to do. much more cooling etc

One thing I forgot to add on my trans wish list is the BD deep pan.

I'm not sure the year matters. Pick one that keeps the grille you want.

Various swap threads refer to the PSD cooler being the best fit in an IC truck and the 2ndgen fitting the gas or non-IC easiest. This is because the support structure was heavily revamped for the 91-93 IC in the first place.

I have 2ndgen stuff to swap in also. Amongst my 84-93 rad supports, I can see the IC one is going to need the worst surgery. Since it's a desirable piece, I'm going set it aside and use one of the others. I'm looking to graft in a portion of the tubular 2ndgen support.

Edit: as far as cooling capacity.... consider the heat the auto trans is pushing into the system, especially from TC slip. It's just not there with a manual. Also, the intercooled trucks have the smaller air openings in the rad support.

yes thanks for the reply. appreciate it and the pics. hope to keep in touch with you on that. i haveto to agree on all you said, it makes sense. that bieng, said i have the PS intercooler in one of the trucks already, actually the one i want to change. also deep tranny pan, and aftermarket torque and extra rad to cool trans fluid. .trany fluid seems to be not to bad at this point,.temp wise. i expect it will be a big job hope to start in the new year as i am not driving it this winter. i just wish i had better access to parts from other trucks so will be doing some shopping, i expect.

I upgraded to a hx35. The DE 4" downpipe fit the H1C and hx35 just the same. My next upgrade will be to an '06 he351cw. This will require me to cut the small vband flange off of the downpipe and weld on a larger one.

I think these other popular aftermarket borg-warner turbos use a bigger outlet like the he351cw. Maybe somebody else can confirm.

U2slow.
You are correct the Borg Warner SXE turbos, like the 62/68/12 I just ordered, comes with the HX-40 style 4 inch outlet.

You can get the proper DP from Diamond Eye, or just get a weld on flange to use with your existing 4 inch exhaust.

I believe the newer manifolds don't fit our cyl head ports correctly, and the turbo outlet is lower and rearward.

Afaik, use the stock manifold, or an aftermarket replacement ( if yours is broken/warped).

I believe 89-02 are all the same exhaust manifold. 03+ is different.
