3200 spring and foot grind help

Ok, got all of my goodies in my basket finally, now its time to add them all together. I have one problem area that i don't quite understand and comprehend completly 100%. When i go and put in the 3200 gsk, where is the afc foot, and how much is ground off? Would it be viable and worth the time to do this? I have searched and read many threads about several of u guys doing this, but cannot find any pics or details on doing so... and what are ya'lls thoughts on keeping the 21cm housing? i have a 16cm one but, personally i like the smoke and the lag of the 21. Any suggestions guys???
Thanks alot.

You'll get a LOT of smoke if you grind the AFC lever. To prevent smoke, you have to really ease into the throttle. I'll see if I can get a pic for you tomorrow morning.

i'd say leave the foot alone. when my pump was recently rebuilt, i had it put back in. drives much better i think. changing the geometry inside the pump like that effects a lot of things. one of which is drivability, because of the governor mechanism. right now, when you start going up a hill, you shouldn't have to adjust the pedal much to maintain speed. after grinding the afc foot, you will be constantly adjusting for every little bump you go over. the other factor is the smoke. bad for the engine, and bad for the wallet. that's just my thoughts though. and it's pretty easy to be undone too. somebody did a writeup on it somewhere, maybe thats what gman's looking for.

If you are keeping the 21 cm, don't grind the lever. It's gonna smoke awful.

It takes a lot of patience to drive a truck with a ground lever cleanly. I have not noticed the diveabilty issues swank is talking about.

Going with the 16cm will drop my egts correct? How bad will it smoke with the stock injectors? This truck is not a daily driver by no means. Just on the weekends every so often. This is just my toy, and a "money pit" so to speak.
If i grind the lever off I can go back in there and put a new arm in correct? It's not like it's a permanent mod. Right?
Thanks

Yes, the lever can be replaced. You can also just remove the lever instead of grinding it.
