yep! It dawned on me after the post that it was the radiator yall were going around.......thanks for the replies....

as far as the radiator is concerned how does the non i/c radiator work for a modded motor.........?

If it works good Ill slap a non i/c radiator in my rig and hit the road.....

If I were you Denny I would get the IC rad. The non ic rad has both the inlet and outlet on the passenger side so if yours is a ic truck the top rad hose heads over to the drivers side instead of strait towards the front of the truck like the non ic. Plus the ic rad I believe is taller and narrower also the shrouds are different.

yeah I planed on doing a whole swaper-roo.....

Ive got a major smashed right fender and a crunched core support. Ive got access to a perfect core support but its non i/c......I also have a 2nd gen I/C

You can see the puzzle Im trying to put together here....dadgum core supports are hard to find..........

My 89 seems fine with the non i/c radiator. I am pushing 300 hp and have not had any overheat issues. I do not tow with it. My other 89 I had did fine towing. That had maybe 200 hp. Never dynoed that one. Plowing snow with it once and a while would get warm but the clutch fan never kicked in. It was worn out.

Depends on if you are towing heavy or just playing. When you're playing you run out of road before the coolant temp goes up.

I used exhaust tubing for the straight section along with the intake horn. Took a couple bends and welded them together for the intake horn. The other pieces were straight. worked out awesome.

You can see the pipe under the cold air tube, straight shot to the turbo elbow. no bends!!
