Ground Locations???

I have a new project in my '93 5-speed, 4x4, ext. cab. I was told it would not start once in a while but after two hours driving it I discovered it has more wiring issues that I was informed about by the former owner. I discovered that the park lights do not always work - tried the fuse and replacing the switch. No difference. Then I discovered the unit will not always shut down if I am in reverse when I try to shut the engine off. It will die when I take it out of reverse. In patching the radio back to original plugs I was pulling on the wiring harnes and the parl lights cameon WITHOUT a switch plugged in! I am about to rebild the starter but am starting to think my problem is in a ground system. I replaced the ground at the battery but am looking for help in identifying where any other important ground wires are located. I was very surprised to see the computer module behind the glove box was unplugged all together. The truck ran great with all this going on! Can anyone shed some light on this issue - am I on the right track? Where are the grounds that are critical to the operation of things?
Thanks in advance. Cheers - Derrick

The black box behind the glove box is the module for the A.B.S. system.
The actual PCM is inside the l/h fender beside the battery.
As far as the grounds there are a bunch of them. A FSM (service manual) is the best way to trace down all the wiring.
I'm sure someone will chime in with answers to your needs tho.

Thanks for the info on the Black module..I did not know that but it will help with the '92 that is in the picture as it has issues with the ABS....will it do anything to things in a bad way if I unplug them?

My understanding is you just lose your ABS.

I see you're from BC, where abouts? Pm me if you want. I used to live there.

Main body ground is on the core support right by the battery.
