1st Gen Won't Start

Greetings, I Have been stalking for a few months now and I have learned a lot (thank you to all the contributors) now its time for my 1st post.

H e l l l l p! My Truck won't start!

Here's the situation, I replaced the auto with an NV4500. I grounded the Neutral switch leg, connected the clutch saftey switch, checked the shut off solinoid and had 12v so I thought..good to go. Turns over fine but will not start

Swapped out the lift pump for stock replacement primed lift pump all good. Fuel to Injection pump bled the injector lines to remove air from the system.

Turns over still won't start.... what do I check next ?

Thanks folks,
Cocowboy

Maybe the plunger in the fuel shut off solinoid is stuck, getting good amount of fuel to the injectors?

It appears so. When I bled the lines to the injectors there was much more fuel than an injector could deliver into a cylinder. It's just an observation no measurements.

When cranking the motor over with the injectors open...nut loose but still attached, you should be getting a strong injection pulse. It should spray fuel all over the place. Make sure you have on a set of safety glasses though. If your not getting a strong injection pulse then you might have other issues.

How good is your battery?...a slow cranking motor might not fire either.

Great battery cranking real speedy.

I am not getting that kind of pressure. More like a bubber on a sprinkler system good volume but not pressure.

Thanks for the responses.

I'd say check fuel filter, make sure manual shut down did'nt somehow get pulled back, and if that all checks out pull the plunger and spring out of the FSS and re-install it. Then try again. (you'll have to manually shut it off with the plunger out)

Like he said with the lines cracked at the injectors it should make a fairly powerfull spray of fuel. Not no little stream.

Check the gap on the CPS
Set at .050
Go down as low as .035 in steps of .005
Also wire 12v from batt to shut off solenoid to eliminate that as cause
Cheers

How long has the truck been out of service? You could have gelled fuel plugging up the fuel filter.
