I prefer the look of the 1st gens but I don't know much about the 2nd gen CTDs. How do they compare as far as:

4x4 vs 4x4
2wd vs 2wd
MPGs
Transmission quality
Reliability
Costs
Anything else?

 

same(2nd gen doesnt use leafe springs in teh 4x4 lil better ride i think)
maybe better front springs

auto = 2nd gen better because of the lock up t/c manual better because of teh nv4500

Do any of the 2nd gen models have Captains chairs or is is split-bench or what?
Do any 2nd gens have rear jump-seats (not a fold up bench seat)?
Can someone explain the models? Which one is the Luxury Edition?

 

Reliability is about the same. It actually seems like the 2nd gen guys have more shutoff solenoid and fuel line air leaks than we do.

I can't say that I've seen a 2nd gen with captain's chairs and a console.
No sideways jump seats in 2nd gens.
I think the "Laramie" package is top of the line, then SLT, then ST is at the bottom of the barrel.
