1st gen VE mo in Diesel Power

Hey fellas, ya all get the new Diesel Power mag yet? They did a write up about the VE pump. After there DDp injectors, and the pump mods they got 264 HP, and 500 TQ. on a dino. Not to bad I would say.

Bob.

500 tq seems quite low for a 250+hp VE...

Stock 727, I'd say they are going to be lacking on torque getting the wheels.

Thats alright, your right though. 250hp should lay down almost 700 ft lbs. Give or take a few. I did 250 and 730 on mine, but I have a lockup converter.

According to the aritcle the auto trans is on its way out and was slipping. They figured they would do the pump mods to help finish off the trans.

They are planning on a new trans then see what numbers it will turn. That would explain the low torque numbers.

Fun article, I read it today!
