For all of those guys still looking for a manual... I finally called tech authority and they do still have manuals available but you have to call to get it. It's not available online. The number is 1-800-890-4038 and the part number is 813703108. The total cost with shipping was $74.29

Yes that's for the 93 but it probably covers other years too. At first when she placed my order she told me that it was $14.99. I said no that can't be right! She was trying to send me the owners manual. LOL I told her I don't need that one I know how to start the truck and operate the windshield wipers.

 

The service manuals are year specific.

'93 is the only year with Getrag rebuild info, before that it was only to be replaced as a complete unit.

The thing that can get you in trouble is the wiring diagrams. '92 and '93 trucks are pretty much the same, as are '89 and '90/'91 non intercooled. The '91.5 is kind of a mongrel, if you have one you really need the FSM for that year.

 

Cool! I need info on my getrag. It doesn't shift into 3rd very well. You have to let the rpm's drop and shift it very slowly to get it in without grinding. I'm glad that they include the getrag.

 

Wanna...mine is a 91 intercooled...does the manual for the 91 cover both the inter and non inter??? is there a way to get the getrag rebuild info that is in the 93 manual??? vs

 

Also make sure that the year you need doesn't have a 'service manual supplement' The 91 year does, the smaller supplement covers the diesel stuff (additions to manual)
