1995 to 1996 Stock chrome steel rims
1995 to 1996 Stock chrome steel rims
Hi all. Do the stock dodge 95/96 chrome steel 8 lug rims fit a w250 1st gen front axles without hitting or interference ?
I know they'll fit the rear axel.
I also found a set of 2001 aluminum ctd 8 lug rims. Do i need adapter/spacers to get them to fit a w250 front axle to clear the tie rods ?
These would be for my 92 w250 ctd crew cab converson.
Thanks for the advice and knowledge. I'd prefer the 01 rims but if the 95 rims would fit without spacer/adapters I think it would be safer and cheaper.
Thanx, Ron

I had them on my 93 with no problems.
You do, however have to upgrade your lugnuts to the big flared type that allow for proper clamping pressure on the rim. The standard lug nuts are a little smaller, and I'd be wary of using them as the holes in the rim are just slightly larger for 9/16 studs to poke through.
There's a thread about it, as this is the site which gave me the idea to put the 2nd gen rims on my 93
Here it is..

You don't need that big ring on there, but the wider flared base is a mandatory on it, as it takes up the extra space in the wheel lug holes.

Do it the right way and upgrade to 9/16" studs and the proper lugnuts for the wheels.
The thread that NJT linked to has Napa part numbers on the first page for the studs and lugnuts.

Thanks again for the info. Read the link.
Looks like spacers are needed to get the offset right. Is that correct for the 95/96 steelies.
Also looks like u need 2 inch spacers w/studs to get the offset right and clearence for the tie rod and caliper for the 2001 alloys is that right also ?
Thanks, Ron

You can run these lugnuts, and the caps fit just fine.
DORMAN 611-175 Wheel Lug Nut

I'm running the 2nd gen steelies on my crewcab with these lug nuts. Caps fit fine, and no problems withthe wheels. And the offset is only about 1/4" smaller on each side so I didn't bother with spacers.
