OK and the fix. I used one of the old parts to experiment on. I replaced the new offending part with the old part. I did exactly the same thing so I marked it where the spring sat. A3/13 chainsaw file worked perfectly to make a small elongation that moved the adjuster downward.


Pic 1&2 the problem the adjuster is too high on the star wheel to move it.
Pic 3 the experiment.
Pic4 the fix.
Pic 5 the result. A working adjuster.winner winner chicken dinner.

Thank you sir. I just hate to take things apart that I just put together so I try to eliminate that as much as possible. The key word is TRY

The only variable I can see (originally) is the location on the shoe of the curved cable guide. What make and model of shoes are you using?
