Oh and 4th gen Laramie seats have the movement relays built in but heated switched are on the dash and centre console.

I did some measuring for I think Bryson and IMO they would be easier to fit then the ford seats

Cool, the heated seat switch wouldn't be an issue. I have large center console out of a 93 extended cab. That things got a lot of storage, I even tested it out with 18 pack of bud light in the box, there was even room for a 12 pack lol.

Neways- On measurements, mainly what I was wondering the mounts may be different-however are they located still on same spot on the block throughout the years?

Lol make sure to install a drain to let the water out when the ice melts!!

That I'm not sure of, I know the 94-98.4 12v's can accept 1st gen mounts and drop right in but where they attach to the truck is in a different spot. From front to back I mean

OK. Well I think I will be using Rammoparparts.com-seems they have just about everything listed to purchase!

http://www.rammoparparts.com/index.php?p=home

Once I knock out a few other current projects and continue to do homework before nit and gritty, I will order New 2011 4x4 frame with skid plate, New Front and rear Floor pans-Give proper tunnel clearance, all my bolt holes for the Laramie seats and a new floor that I need anyways and maybe my cab mount locations are built into floorboard to have fitted into my cab and have direct cab mount locations ready to go.

Gyman98 If you could please when you got time-no big hurry and take a look under your new ram, are the cab mounts part of the floor boards? Thanks

Lenny; If you have any body shop buddies maybe they could find you a hard roll-over w/little or no frame damage.
Then mount cab/bed over to new frame. Still will not be easy but I think better way to go. Good luck whatever you decide.

Yea I got 4 of them that ready to do it, I gave them 2 paint scheme ideas and we all agreed on second one-sorry guys not gonna tell or show till its complete, but I promise it be worth the long wait.

They actually had same idea, they gave me a few different places to search through their inventory for donor parts-not much luck yet. However before I can get the project started-gotta get a few others completed first and a couple big monthly payments knocked out, then the funds will be flowing

To bad we didn't get paid for all the thoughts and ideas we had, we would all be rich lol

Hey Guys, finished up a few other projects and been doing my research on my build project and ordered some parts to start the long journey of building a truck from bare frame up. However I do have a few questions for you first gen guys that have done this build process or just worked on first gens period.

1)Is the Engine Wiring harness, dash, Hvac same between gas and Diesel?
I find a lot of good First Gen Gassers in great shape for dirt cheap, good front clip that I could use and interior peices, but all the diesels are far far to gone to use parts off for the build or in way to good condition and still wanting 5-6 grand for them!

2)Does the Automatic and manual Transmission use same transmission output-shaft speed sensor or connector?

What I Have Figured out

*78 and 2010-2013 Ram have 149" wheelbase
*Both Have 6'4" Box
*Their Overall Length from front bumper to rear Bumper is within less then 1" difference!
*Can purchase 2010-2013ram Floor boards
*Can purchase 2010-2013 ram Cross-rails that's welded to floor boards and put cab mount locations where needed for direct bolt on.
*Floor Boards and Cross Rails-all for under $700-best part-built in storage coolers and 4th gen seats bolt right in place.

Yes the diesel and gassers use the same body and interior parts...other then the HD suspension, and diesel specific drive train parts. The engine and dash wiring is different enough if you want to use the Diesel specific engine control center. If not then you could probably make a gasser wiring system work.

Wow a whole floor board swap...interesting solution maybe!
