Wanted to get everyone's thoughts about repowering a 1978 D300 currently powered by a V8 automatic. Would also shorten the wheel base so a dually bed would properly fit. A vintage 78 dually pickup. It would certainly be a unique vehicle, at least around Northern Virginia.

Are you going for the industrial D300...

 

I say go for it. The Cummins fit in my 1972 W200 like a glove. The long wheelbase might be cool to leave as is with a custom upfitted bed though
