16cm Housing EGT's?

With the mods in my sig. , how high do you think the EGT's on my truck would be if I installed a 16cm exhaust housing?

The only fuel mod I have is the DennyT fuel pin. I also have a 4" straight pipe. (3" downpipe.)

Thanks

If you're running a stock housing in a 91.5 I'm guessing you currently got a 21 cm housing like me? What are your current egts at wot?

When I did the switch, I can remember a drop of about one hundred degrees F. plus a much more responsive truck. Since then I have had a terrible time with EGT's. Even running HTT"s stage four compressor on the H1C. Too much fuel and not enough cool air. I have had to turn back the fuel screw to almost stock setting to be able to tow at WOT for more than 15 seconds. It pulls good, but I want more.

Unfortunately, I don't have my pyro hooked up as of now, which is the main reason I'm asking the EGT's. I wouldn't think they would be out of control with the 16cm housing, and DennyT pin, but it's better to be safe than sorry, right?

Is your timing bumped any? With stock injectors and a 21cm housing you will probibly see a few more psi boost and slightly lower EGT. With the fuel pin it may put EGT's back to where they were before the 16cm housing. I doubt you have anything to worry about, just put them on and go have fun.

Really, you lost EGT's? I thought a smaller housing would improve spoolup, but raise EGT's?

No my timing isn't bumped...yet. I know someone who has the "S" wrench, and I figured I would install the housing, and bump the timing at the same time.

Its because the turbo is actually working (as opposed to half working).

EGTS get too hot when the exhaust is restrictive or when the turbo gets out of its MAP range.

Ah, makes sense. I have no idea why they would ever put a 21cm housing on these things...

Thanks for the information, now I can rest easy when the housing is on it's way.

Hook that baby up. Does drilling the manifold scare you??? I sure did not like it. One down and my 93 to go. I was afraid I would drill in the wrong spot but I actually did something right.

I'm workin' on it. Kind of hard to make time for it, between school, and my lady. She understood when I had to install my DennyT pin and 366 spring though...

I hope egts are ok because I'm putting on a 14cm housing and a dennyt pin as well. I'm nearly in the same boat as you but I don't have a 4" exhaust. I don't have a pyro but just went out on a limb and figured I wouldn't be running hot with just those 2 things. I'm never on the throttle long enough to cause damage anyways even if it was and I don't intend on turning up my pump without doing a lot of other things (including getting a pyro) that would lower egts like the GDS comp upgrade, 4" exhaust, cold air intake etc etc. none of which I have the money for anyways lol
