16cm exhaust housing installation...

I just recieved my 16cm housing from PDR today...is there any tricks I should know before I start? Does the gasket between the housing and the manifold need to be replaced? Thanks.

The gasket should not need replaced, but getting the old housin off of the turbo can be quite tricky. They either fall right off, or seem to be welded on. WD-40 and heat work wonders.

It was pretty easy to do. The bolts that hold the housing to the manifold are a little bit of a pain but not bad. I would change the gasket between the housing and the manifold. Save's from having to do it twice. You should have the gasket for the oil drain back tube from the turbo. Careful when cleaning the old gasket off that none goes down the tube. I tore up a rag and stuffed a small piece down the hole, not to far though. Be carful when seperating the housing from the compressor side as not to get it to cocked. The tolerances between the housing and the impellar are tight and you could bend or damage the impeller. Use lots of penetrant and a soft hammer suchas a dead blow to tap evenly around one the housing to remove it. It will be stubborn. One of the 4 bolts that has to be undone to remove the housing cant come out untill the housing starts to seperate from the compressor side. When installing the new housing you can clock it so as to install all 4 bolts and then spin it into the right position. When i got my housing it was full of metal filing from the machine shop. Wash it out with solvent of some kind. I also ported the ehaust manifold to match the housing and cleaned up any poor castings in the new housing. You'll have to remove the whole turbo assembly to do this job.
Good luck. I really like mine.

How do you like the bosch 190's. And what are your egt's with them?

I had to back out my fuel screw after I installed my 3200 spring. 0 to 130km (4.11's) i would hit 1500f no problem. Now it's about 1250. I think i need more air.

Well it's on and as usual, something that should be easy and quick turned into a nightmare that took forever...everything went pretty well with the exception of 1 the oil drain flange bolts...it absolutely would not start threading into the hole so I fought with it for quite a while and tried a few different things then it finally ended up going right in. I noticed an immidiate improvement in throttle response and much faster spool up, also gained about 3 psi. My back is killing me now.
