10lbs of boost normal?
So do you think a good converter would help, this trans was rebuilt right before it was parked. They probibly used a stock converter! How much will a good one set me back and what brand would you guys suggest?
A good converter will make it feel like a different truck. The ONLY man I would ever consider with a Dodge transmission, especially a 1st Gen transmission would be Dave Goerend. If I recall correctly, he has 3 converters for us. An 89% converter for $550, without a lifetime warranty, a $650 converter with a lifetime warranty, and a 91% converter for $950.
I have replaced the i/c with a powerstroke one and I got up to 14psi with that mod. Every thing else was stock. Then I got my denny fuel pin in the mail and it went to 19psi!!! Then I realized the previous owner had the muffler in backwards and straight piped it, it went to 22psi cool!! Then I put a large open element air cleaner on it and no more boost but it sounds cool, love that whissle.
