Is this normal for boost guage????

I've noticed that when I mash the pedal and the boost gets up to around 25psi that I can hear it blowing air at the guage. It gets louder as it rises too and it never goes above 30 psi either. The Westach guage does not come with any clamps for the hose and I did have to tie wrap the end on the engine because it was popping off. I put a tie wrap on the guage side but I couldn't really pull it tight because I was afraid I would break the nipple off. Anyone else have this problem?

Not normal for me, sounds like you need to find a leak.

Are you sure yo have it hooked up to the right place
I haven't seen mine above 26 and even then yo could see it drop right off because the bypass actuator vaulve would dump and it would go down almost imediatley

There's only one place to hook it up on the guage. I hooked it to the boost bolt which I installed in the intake manifold. I am also using the boost elbow from Edge.

With the boost elbow I think you should see 34 PSI!

OK, that makes more sense with the Boost Elbow
Just replace that with a Banks Big Head & then wee what you get

They did send a couple of tie wraps with the guage. I will be pulling it off and sealing it up this weekend.
njoverkill, it should go up some once I kill this leak. It's pretty loud so I'm sure I'm losing a couple of psi on my reading.
Thanks for the replies......

No zip ties were sent. A friend of mine said it is common practice in the jetski world to zip-tie everything.

They did send 2 thin zip-ties but as one of my previous topics states, "these are the worst directions ever!" Anyways, I pulled the pillar off, cut .5" off the end of the hose, pushed it on really tight, and put two zip-ties on it. No more sound but the boost still stops at 30 psi. Worst of all is that the push-in nut that the pillar bolts to is spinning in the hole and I can't get the top bolt tight. I almost destroyed the pillar trying to get it off.. Man! It never ends........
