Ahh, the dreaded KILLER DOWEL PIN..... if it falls into your gearcase housing it can ruin your day and maybe over $1000 in damage. There are several pre emptive fixes available. Here is one that comes highly recommended...

1ST gen the bolt by the lube pump falls out and does more damage

 

You need not worry with an '05

Yes, worry.

It applies to 89-98 (some with 24v have tabbed it as well. I think.)

But the TST kit, it's an easy job.

 

Just order the TST kit and don't worry anymore about it.
