Im not worried about that cause i ran my buddies #0 plate for a while, and with it full forward, i can bury my 1500 degree gauge because it never really defuels. I dont like really high EGT's, as i pull a lot in the summer, and i like to mash it ;plus, hopefully ill get delivery valves after i get my torque converter, and id like to have some cushion for the EGT's that will bring me. What do you think?

I think that I will just slide mine foward for now. I'm really skeptical about even doing that...in that I dont want to screw my transmission. I was looking at TST's site and I saw this Here is what Im talking about If that is the case....what a waste to spend that much for that, when you can do the same thing for say $5.00

Not when your pulling a 32 foot load of hay . Plus, i dont want to spend any more than i have to, because at least for a while, delivery valves will be my last power upgrade i imagine.
Masseyman1089: Youll be fine sliding the stock plate, but a lot more, and you can get into trouble, but i wouldnt hesitate sliding the stock plate.

doesn't cost anything to grind your plate
in all seriousness, experament with adjusting the lever arm up, it'll help out your power in the lower RPM

I know, but when i let out of it, the rpm's fall back down some, which makes me not be able to pull as fast, because even though it gets more fuel up there, and should have more power because of that, the tranny slips a lot anyway when the converter is unlocked, and the higher RPM's make it pull better, and plus it dont feel right taking your foot out of the pedal . Im hopefully gonna do it tonight, but its not looking like its gonna happen right this second. Ill have to see. If i cant get enough low end, maybe ill grind the bottom lip on down some on the plate?

yeah, you could definately grind the bottom nose of the plate... don't get crazy, just kinda follow the same contour but shave it down a little... might have to take a couple cracks at it to get it right. w/ your automatic, you don't want it to fuel TOO hard too quick, so don't get crazy w/ the grinder! LOL!

Forrest Nearing: I wont, but i figured i could take the lip down just a little more if i need to, or i might see if a guy i know will see about swapping it for a #10 or #4 or something to see what that does for me for just a little $.
MasseyMan1089: Here is a link to the Governor Spring Kit: http://www.tstproducts.com/index.asp...WPROD&ProdID=9
You will be amazed at the difference it makes in driveability(at least i was with my fuel plate too). Mine would go 63mph in 3rd gear before, and now it will do 80 . It will rev to about 3200rpm's if i hold it in first gear pretty quick, and it sounds awesome at around 3k rpm's . For the transgo, just go to www.ebay.com, and scroll down to ebay motors. Then type sopmething like dodge diesel shift kit in the search box, and see what you get. Last night, all i saw was 2 kits, and one was about #80, and the other was like$120, but they were both different from mine i believe. If u still cant find it ill give you a link.

Thanks for the links. On the TST site, I quote:
NOTE: Only recommended for use with the TST #4 (in 160, 175, or 180HP engines) or #10 (in 215HP engines) plates and are for competition use only.
Should I get that stuff before I invest in the springs?

Well, i dont know. I know that they will definatley work better with what they reccomend, but if your that worried about your tranny, then i wouldnt do it. Take your stock plate out, and get a grinder to it, and grind it straight down, and leave a little bit of a lip on the bottom. That will have 0 problems with a GSK, and you can move it around to be either quite a bit of power, or not a lot at all. Thats what i would reccomend you do for now, because you can get plenty of power like that, or set it back some, or whatever to get just the right amount of power for your tranny. I dont know, but you could try it with the stock plate all the way forward first, then if it doesent run as good as it used to when the TC locks, grind it flat.
