un-dually conversion

Has anyone converted a dually back to a single rear wheel? Ive heard tthat it just requires a new bed and set of wheels and tires, and Ive also heard that a different axle is required. It looks like the front and rear inside wheels line up, which makes me think that an axle would not be required. Thanks

depending on year there is a Spacer bolted on the front axle ( I'm looking to buy one...) and your rear Axle is 2 inches wider so its not really i big deal you prob. won't notice...

Yo, Im in Ventura ca. Its a 96 4x4. If the rear is 2" wider can a non dually bed be installed? I can use the extra mobility, but want to keep it as simple as possible without sacrificing quality. Where you at? Thanks

I'm in the process of converting mine right now. I have the bed and a sweet set of 35" tires. I'm sure I will need some fender fares to keep it legal. I will post pictures when I'm done. Hopefully soon.

P.S. anyone need a red dually bed and some nearly new tires?

My rear axle is significantly wider than an SRW. Even the chassis cab axles are wider, but not by much. The front and rear wheels line up stock, but the front has a removable spacer, the rear does not. And the offset on the wheels are probably an extra 5" over a SRW. My WMS to WMS measure is around 79" on my truck.

Come down to San Diego and swap my single out for your dually. I would love to have a dually as I tow a fiver all over the country and would love the extra stability. LOL
