Dually to SWR conversion
Dually to SWR conversion
I couldent pass up the 93 4x4 dually I found a while back. I really dont need a dwr and am considering converting to swr. My questions are, Is the rear end the same, just adapters and duals? the front end? remove adapters for wheels and run plain steel? are the wheel studs are to big for stock wheels? besides the bed/fender issues what will have to be changed?
Rear is wider. Spindles are different on the rear too from what I have heard.
The front hubs would need to be changed, but the spindles, etc., are the same.
Dually wheel studs are larger in diameter (5/8 instead of 1/2 ??).

Although they are both dana 70's, it seems like I read the 3/4 ton uses a lighter axle shaft. Might be splined different, if you try to change spindles, make sure your present axles will work on the other. Not certain, just check it out before you start to tear in to it.
