Turbo Suggestions????

My old upgraded HC1 turbo is shot.... Im looking for a better upgrade than the original turbo. ive done all the pump mods (of course its leaking now) and 50 over injectors. I can fix my old beast but im not a very good performance guru. I dont know the combinations to go with.. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I like a simple 2nd gen turbo swap as an upgrade.
Cheap, easy and plenty for a mild power build.
Something like a '94/95 WH1C or a '96/97 HX-35.

It will bolt right on the exhaust manifold. Oil lines screw right in. Exhaust bolts up, but the back of the turbo flange is 1/2 inch further back with the waste gated housing. You my need to adjust the exhaust a tiny bit. The turbo 90* elbow, clamps on the same and the air filter hose fits right on as well.
Check the stick over on the 1st gen forum, I bet there are a few threads on that install.
It is pretty straight forward.

If your lazy and don't want to mess with the exhaust, the HX35 will bolt right up to the H1C exhaust housing eliminating the waste gate and the extra length.

For me getting the smaller exhaust housing is half the gain. It really makes the boost pick up quicker which is great for a 5 speed.
In the land of rust I live in, I would rather move a DP a bit then try to swap exhaust housing on turbos.

I'll tell you how good a fleece cheetah is in a day or 2 after I get it installed and run it.

On my completely stock 12 valve, might have to tune up the P7100 afc to get it going.

FYI: its a Holset hx35 that is upgraded so its direct bolt on.

Max boost is 40 PSI on stock studs. Thats what I've heard, the cheetah is wastegated to 30 PSI.
