Turbo screw-ed
I got a screw or something sucked into my turbo when I was trying to check for boost leaks. The fins are chewed up some but I detect no unusual play in the saft. I drove it about 900 miles thinking it was a boost leek waiting for my new intercooler piping. Now that its all cleaned out if I take it easy what are the chances I could go 320 miles more to get to my other turbo. Would it be a reasonable risk? Its not making much boost but I would watch the egt like always and hope for heavy rain.
All so the other turbo is off the same year (97) but it was a 5 speed this is an auto. Will that work ok? Mount up?

Yes the '97 5 speed turbo will bolt right up to your '97 auto.
Can it go another 320 miles...It sure might.
I will leave that call up to you as you know how bad the turbo looks. If you do run it, I agree you should keep a close eye on the EGTs.

Thank you for letting me know. If I make it, I should be all set. In the last 15-20 years and well over 500,000 miles I've been driving one of these I've never been left stranded, but this is asking for it. I have had a few roadside repairs though.
