Transmission shifting in and out of overdrive sometimes
I don't know exactly what the problem is but just recently like 3 days ago the transmission has been shifting in and out of overdrive sometimes. It is not all the time as a matter of fact, when I stay on the "gas" pedal steadily it shifts fine. If I try to travel too slow or too fast if does this. On last Saturday I checked the fluid level and it was 1 qt low. So I left the transmission out of overdrive the rest of the way home after checking the fluid. I changed the fluid and filter yesterday and it seems to be doing it more today. My question after all this info is, is there a pressure regulator? or sensor that typically does this? I can't seem to pinpoint as it only does it every now and then. If anyone has any insight I would greatly appreciate it. By the way the transmission is stock with 175K miles on it.
P.S. I know someone is gonna say it is time for a rebuild, I am sure it might, but The Tranny shifts fine in 1,2,and 3 with no problems. Thanks Aaron

i think its called the TPPS or something like that...the equivalent of the TPS on our 12 valve...its a throttle position sensor....controls 3rd gear lock up, 4th gear and 4th gear lock up
