Trans Question

I overheated my auto tranny (the light and alarm came on) While climing a very steep grade. I stopped and ran it in neutral for about 10 min. and the light went out. I finished the climb in 1st with no problem.

Should I dump the fluid? I did a tranny service at 80,000 and truned 100,000 on the way home.

Re:Trans Question

I'd dump it and change the filter just to be sure.

You might even consider installing a Mag-Hytec deep pan to help keep it from happening again.

Re:Trans Question

It dosen't smell or look burnt, but I thought I'd change it anyway. The climb was in Arizona...Carr canyon about 4000 ft. in 7 miles. alot of swithbacks and traveling at 10 mph.

anyone been there?, it's near Seirra Vista
