Blue fusible link wire or connection possible. Clean and double check that, then it may be a noise issue from the Alt. Sometimes wrapping the wire from the alternator in foil and grounding will help.

Fill out your sig. so we know what we are dealing with.

The brake sw out of adjustment or bad can cause this , I found mine when the cruse & LO would come , especially hitting bumps in road .

my truck did the same thing. the brush inside the alternator was all but gone. it was beginning to arc out on the armature during increased electrical loads, specifically at night when the headlights were on. this is the only time my problem showed up.

i took the alternator to an alternator/starter repair shop. they put it on the tester and it was putting out about 90amps. they said it wasnt bad but took it apart and found the worn brush. they replaced it in a few minutes and put it back on the tester. the alternator output shot up to OVER 130amps.

problem solved, my truck drives like its brand new.

btw, i still showed 14v at any given time. there were no outward signs that the alt was faulty. i went thru so many other steps before this with no positive results. moral of the story; INSTALL NEW BRUSH IN GENERATOR FIRST!
