Throttle Rod Part number

Does anyone have the "Throttle actuator rod" part number for a 97 Dodge 2500? I bought the ends but the rod is rotted/bent slightly.

A few years ago I bought the entire assembly from a Dodge dealer for about $40 IIRC. Cummins Quickserve shows it in graphic tl950gp, option TL9057 but does not show the individual part number.

It might be free for you under recall.
Check if you are eligible here, you will need your VIN http://www.chrysler.com/webselfservi...m('R')

It is covered but only the ends are covered not the threaded rod itself. I would rather just do it myself instead of the dealer hassle.

Give a call to Cummins SW and tell them the serial number of your engine. They have the break down of the graphic I listed

The throttle rod broke in my 97 also. If I remember correctly it is about 16 bucks from the dealer.
Had to prop the broken rod against a bracket on the pump so it would idle at 2000 rpm then limp 4 miles back home. Lucky I had a manual.
I will try to find the part number when I get back home.

I've had three break. Two under warranty, one after and none since the rod end recall. Every time with my 5er in tow. The first time I strung some .032 stainless steel wire between the ***** where the rod ends fit and drove about 50 miles to get home. The second one broke in Alamagordo, NM. I strung the wire again and drove it to Tuscon, AZ. By the way, cruise control will work when the rod is broken, different cable.

I did mine before the recall and the kit included the rod, in fact part number CANZ9700- Throttle Control Cable & Linkage Package contained the following:
1 - Throttle control cable
2 - Throttle rod ball studs
2 - Throttle rod ball stud nuts
1 - Throttle control cable ball stud
1 - Throttle control cable ball stud nut
1 - Short R/H threaded rod end
1 - Short L/H threaded rod end
1 - Long R/H threaded rod end
1 - Throttle return spring

Chrysler paid me back $38 for the parts later after the recall came out.
I've heard of others who weren't eligible for the recall paying that same price but of course it was years ago.

Is it possible that the 95 and 97 recalls were different? All that was replaced on mine was the rod ends and the ball studs. Somewhere in there was a cable recall too, but not on mine.

I took my throttle rod out, ground all the rust off and welded three beads down the length of it with my mig. It's much stronger now than factory.
