Swap Vacuum to Hydraboost?

Anyone swapped their 94-96 Vacuum boost to 97 Hydraboost system? What is involved?
Any advice welcome. Did a search but could not find any info.

I've never done one but assuming the hydro unit with master bolts right up to the spot where the booster was about all you would need is a couple tees and some hose.

I've driven trucks with both systems and can't say one stops better than the other but one thing's for sure, if something goes wrong with the vacuum assist system it's a heck of a lot cheaper to fix than the hydro.

Thanks guys, I am swapping out my rear end for an 03 to get the disc brakes and 3:73 ratio. Thought I might need the Hydra system to make the brakes work efficiently?

I think they'll work the same either way.
All that both systems do is help you push down the pedal.

I may do the rear end swap first, and see how much brake improvement there is.
Thanks for the advice.

That sounds like a neat upgrade Balzac...

I take it the 3.54 is too steep to pull good in OD??? I think that 3.73 will be the ticket. When you have it done, I am sure it will be a good conversation piece at our next event...

As far as the Hydroboost, I don' t think its all that great.. I have to switch mine to a synthetic soon as if it gets hot, I can feel the brake booster in the steering wheel. The vacuum assist should be more than enough to kick in those disks...

Will our rims fit over those calipers??
