Stupid Question: When to check the coolant level?

When the truck is cold, the coolant level is between full and low...

Should it read full at cold?

I should add that it reads full at warm...

Why is this?

Should it read full at cold and higher at warm?

Or am I good - don't need to add...?

It should read full when warm.
Fluids expand as they warm.
