Stupid question, but need to know...

Why won't a P7100 fry w/o fuel?

I know that its lubed by oil from the engine, but wouldn't the DV's burn up if they are pumping with no fuel?

Just a guess...

But the engine would probabally die before the DVs and other IP parts generated enough heat from running without fuel to do any damadge.

Again, just a guess.

The dv's would never move if there was no fuel , it is the fuel pressure that pushes them open.
