straight pipe or full exhust
removing the muffler will free up the exhaust a little, which will add a little power, and drop egt's some, maybe not much with just the muffler. the bad is its pretty loud and you might not like it.
I've run pretty much every exhaust setup on this truck (side dump, Stack, stock full exhaust with muffler, straight pipe full exhaust) and my favorite is the 4" straight pipe to 6" tip full exhaust. Its loud for people outside the truck, but in the cab its really not much more than when i had the muffler and stock system. The Side dump was by far the loudest when u had ur passenger window down it just screamed, I ran the stack with a muffler so it wasnt loud at all.
I'd love to have a setup with a valve on it. One day, I'm feeling strait piped. The next day I want to be In-Cog-Neto especially when you pass a cop parked in the grass while you're pulling a big load up a hill.
If you spend a lot of time driving the truck, a straight pipe will get old. Also, if other people ride with you often, they probably won't appreciate it. Straight pipes are fun for a little while but when you try to drive 1000 miles in a day, you will hate it.
