Wif
Wif
The other day, while plowing, my WIF light came on and stayed on while driving
When I drained the filter, there was about 10-20mL of water, not very much at all. It's the most I've ever pulled out of it, but I've pulled out close to just as much without triggering the light. When I put the ignition switch on after I discarded the water, the WIF was still on. I started it and drove about 3 minutes and it went off and now acts normal. I read a thread on here about someone saying the filter would have to be almost completely full of water to trigger the WIF light. That is WRONG!!!
I was forced to fuel up in the rain the day this happened.

It's more than likely water in the WIF plug.
Spray it down with WD-40 (WD is water displacement) it should go away. Happens a lot when people decided to powerwash the engine also.

That's what I was thinking dozer.
Timmy- It was bone dry under the hood. I even disconnected the sensor plug, checking for water.
I don't know about most people here, but most people that I know don't have a clue about how damaging water is to a diesel engine. It's bad enough it has to go through the lift pump. It is a real threat.
