WIF Sensor

Anybody ever have a problem with their WIF sensor leaking?Yesterday my truck didn't want to start, after about the third try it started and ran rough for a while.I smelled diesel so i looked under the truck and had a steady driping of fuel.It seemed to be coming from the WIF sensor.Just wondering if anyone else has had that problem.I've got a replacement coming from Geno's.Thanks

Re:WIF Sensor

I had a problem with it leaking when I tried to use a purolater fuel filter. It would not seal properly, and after getting a Wix filter to replace it with, it was obvious that the filter was substandard and would not allow the o-ring to seal.

Last time I ever considered a cheap filter of any-kind on my truck.

Re:WIF Sensor

LEAK!!!!! I had the water sensor drain valve come out and disappear once. I was towing at about 65mph and noticed the engine running rough. Stopped at an exit and discovered a 1/8" stream of fuel running under the truck. That resulted in a tow bill and finding a new valve at 10pm. The valve was the original installed in a Fleetgard fuel filter. I now carry a spare sensor/valve in toolbox. P.S. A 7/16" bolt will plug the opening in this emergency situation, I discovered later.

Re:WIF Sensor

It turned out to be a cracked fuel line. The rubber fuel line that runs right along side the block was rotted with many cracks in it.The truck is a 95 and just turned 150,000 miles.Just something to think about if you have one with that many miles
