I have a 94 3/4 ton reg. cab long bed. I was wondering what size pipe i will need to replace my muffler with a piece of pipe.

 

Stock i think is 3.5 inches

It will sound sweet, trust me.. i was in same dillema a few months back

I was thinking 3", but you might be right. I'll have to check out the spare piece at home from doing mine.

 

If it's the same as my '96, it's a 3" downpipe into the cat, 4" out of the cat into the muffler, 3" out of the muffler to the tail.
I just got some 4" and ran it straight back from the cat (gutted) to the rear axle, stuck a 45* elbow on it, and came out the side, near the oem position.

 

My '97 goes from whatever stock is, to a 4" about where the cat should be? Straight-piped to the back, exiting behind the wheel. No silencer ring. I think it sounds pretty sweet.

 

I bought an aftermarket 4" turbo back. No muffler or catalitic just one big strait 4" piece.

sounds great, hardly notice it in the cab with the windows up. windows down is another story. cool going under bridges and tunnels. on a still night people say they can hear it a mile away.
