not sure what's going on. just put in new lp, fuel lines are new, tank is full, fuel filter is new. turns over great, starts for just a second then dies right away. after several tries and giving it some throttle it will start and then seems to run normally. any ideas? shutoff solenoid?

I know you said your fuel lines were new but this sounds exactly like what mine was doing a while back. Turns out it was my return line.

will the pre-ip/delivery system lose prime if the return line in leaking? i thought the overflow valve would isolate the two? unless it's stuck open, but it's new too. anyway, i have tried pressurizing my tank and looking for leaks while running and can't find anything. baffled....

Check that the fuel shutoff solenoid is staying up. The solenoid has two coils, one that lifts it open while cranking and the other that keeps it open when the key is in the on position. Sounds like yours isn't staying up after cranking. It's very unlikely the solenoid is the problem though, it's most likely a wiring or key switch problem.

thanks ifidel. could you be any more specific about which wiring might be the problem?

If it doesn't stay up in the on position the problem is usually the wiring in-between the solenoid and key switch or a bad key switch. The solenoid will only pull up into the run position while the starter is cranking or if you help it by lifting with the key on.
