Sound of water flowing on start-up...Wierd..

Every so often whenever I start up the CTD I hear the sound of water running from the passenger side. It sounds like someone is just pouring a cup of water out. Wierdest noise in the world. Any ideas? I am not running the A/C or anything...

Heater core is high point in the coolant system. An air leak will usually get into the heater core and a running water or gurgling from the passenger side is a symptom.
Low coolant is 1 cause.

I agree with Fueling. This happens to me during the winter when I use my block heater. I can only guess it must be boiling the antifreeze and creating some air that works its way to the heater core. The sound goes away shortly after starting.

The sound goes away because of heat-expansion and pressure - still should check and fill your coolant system at cool, so you can remove the radiator cap, note the level in the tank, fill it to the cap-lip with 50\50 antifreeze.

Water in floorboard

I hear the same thing and have noticed pass floor gets wet. Does it need a new heater core

Check your coolant level - and put a rubber hose and clamp over the a\c drain tube, sticks out thru lower passenger-side firewall

Inspect heater hose condition while you're over there................

gmctd, could you explain a little more on the "and put a rubber hose and clamp over the a\c drain tube", I'm just curious and want to learn more about what that does. Thanks.
