my truck is leakin' power steering fluid all over the place and i was thinking that a new steering box would fix the problem but after taking a closer look, i think there's more to it. it looks like it's spewing from around the hydroboost/master cylinder area. has anybody seen this before and could tell me more specifically where it's leaking from. also, if the hydroboost is leaking, can i have it rebuilt or do i have to get a new one? thanks alot

there is a weep hole in the bottom of the booster and if fluid is coming out there you need a replasment , not home rebuildable .
got mine at advance auto $200.00 with tax , lifetime warenty !
dealer had one 1yr warenty $635.00.

 

Yep, thats it. I just did mine a couple of weeks ago. Advance Auto (partsamerica.com) was the cheapest.
Took about 45 min. to install.
DO NOT take the brake lines off of the master cylinder, there is enough room to get it out. The FSM says to, but its not necessary.

 

From 1100 miles away, I can clearly see it's leaking at the ____________. Aw! heck, the sun got in my eyes too quickly this morning. Sorry, almost had it pinned. Maybe you could clean it up and start fresh for leak inspection. And I''l take another look in morning. Leave it parked in Southeast direction with hood up and trouble light under master cylinder.
Yes, need to purchase reman unit. MIght look at Autozone also. You have to shop a little it seems. One time advance is cheaper, next it's AutoZone, and then I find a bargain on Internet. Go figure
