Exclamation new head and new turbo, now just backfires and wont start HELP!!!!

ok, i got a brand new head with 60 lb valve springs on it, new stock push rods, new ats exhaust manifold, new phat shaft 62 turbo, new a1 head studs, and a new #100 fuel plate slid full forward. The pump timing was already set at 15.5* and the p pump was not taken off or touched besides new fuel plate installed during this upgrade. The valves were adjusted correctly after the first tourque on the studs so they are right even though i know they will need to be readjusted after the final retourque on the studs. Everything went together correctly and has been tourqued to spec so why after priming the pump with fuel and bleeding the lines does the truck backfire when we go to start it??? It is getting fuel because when it back fires it is making black smoke out of the front turbo and air intake as the intercooler and radiator is not hooked back up yet. Is it possible that the pump slipped timing as i have heard about before or is it something very simple that i am overlooking? Any and all input will be much appreciated

Find someone with a timing set to verify your timing.

My advice would be verify the timing first. You don't want to damage components by cranking an engine and guessing it's right. After that, double check everything you took apart. If the valves are good, timing is good, go back to the simple stuff. Verify the fuel supply and then bleed the injectors as usual.

Recheck valve clearance, if the pump timing was not changed then you have a valve stuck or clearance too tight. To verified pump timing get engine on TDC#1 and remove plug on injection pump pull the plastic lock out and see if you can see the injection pump locking pin. It should be centered in hole. If the gear slipped it still would start but have no power. Make sure each rocker arm is moving properly while cranking over. Are the valve stems all at the same height?
